SCRYWOW

ScryWoW · free for World of Warcraft: Forever

The original WoW UI you love, with the quality of life it always needed

ScryWoW is a free add-on that blends right into the game's own interface. No retail-style overhaul and nothing new to learn: the same frames, bars, bags and quest tracker you remember, just smarter. Lock items so they're never sold by accident, read your XP bar at a glance, see threat on the damage meter, mark gankers, keep chat clean, and carry a leveling plan you build right here.

  • Looks like the original. Fits the classic UI instead of replacing it.
  • Your choice, piece by piece. Every feature has its own on/off switch.
  • Never plays for you. Free, no ads, no automation. Just better information.

Quality of life, inside the UI you already know

Free, light and built for WoW Forever. Everything below lives inside the game's own frames, matches the classic look, and can be switched off on its own.

Lock items so they're never sold or deleted by accident

Click the padlock in your bag's title bar, then click the items you never want to lose: your hearthstone, your best weapon, that quest item you'll need later. Locked items are greyed out with a padlock, they can't be deleted, and if one slips onto a vendor, the add-on buys it straight back. Click the padlock again to finish.

Chat that's easier to follow

A Simple chat tab with only what matters (say, guild, party, whispers, your loot and system messages: no Trade or General spam), opened for you at login. A Whispers tab, 3 days of chat history that survives a reload, and a search button.

Mark players you meet

Right-click anyone to add them to Favorite players with what they do: the crafter who made your belt, a great tank, a mage for portals. Mark a ganker with a red skull and their name plate glows red, with a warning when they show up. Friends glow green. Notes show up when you hover them.

An XP bar you can actually read

Level, percent, bars left and rested % written on the bar. A white line where your XP ends, a blue band for rested XP, and a gold preview of your turn-ins, so you know whether handing in those finished quests gets you the level.

Is it worth listing on the auction house?

On the Sell tab the add-on does the math as you type a price: the house cut and deposit against what a vendor pays. It tells you vendor it, barely worth it or definitely list this. Mark items you always sell as valuable and they get a gold coin in your bags and a call-out when you loot them.

Threat on the damage meter

Your own threat bar sits at the top of the game's damage meter: green when you're safe, orange halfway, red as you pull. Tanks get it the other way round. A thin bar under every player shows who's close to pulling, and the one holding aggro glows bright. It works for healers too: target the tank and it follows the tank's mob.

Quests sorted by XP per minute

Every quest is ranked against others of its level by XP for the time it takes. Your log and tracker show it at a glance: "Top 8%" in orange is worth doing now, "Low" can wait, and quests too low for you are flagged. The Top XP tab lists the best ones in your zone, in your log or still to pick up. Click one for a waypoint arrow.

A plan crafted for your character

Build your character on this site: race, class, spec, role and what you want to do (solo, dungeons, raids, PvP, farming). You get a level 1 to 60 route, the best quests, gear for your spec and professions, and Export to game puts it all in the add-on. Even its settings can be set here first.

Quest markers coloured by value

The quest markers on your world map are tinted by how much XP they give for the time: orange for the very best, gold for great, pale yellow for ordinary and grey for the ones not worth the walk. Skipped zones show red. You can plan a loop through a zone at a glance, before you even open the quest log.

And plenty more

Top Gear tab: quest rewards that are real upgrades for your spec.

Item ratings in tooltips for your spec and off-spec.

Map pins for trainers, class vendors, dungeon quests and rare pattern vendors.

Mob matchups: a + or − on your target, with tactics for tough fights.

Tips panel: when to move on, mobs to watch, dungeon quests nearby.

Stat priority for your spec right on your character sheet.

Scenic mode: level for the stories and places instead of XP.

Default UI look: a sidebar that blends in with the game's own.

Add-on buttons from your minimap gathered in one tidy box.

Campfire tips, a bank alt reminder and a druid mana bar in forms.
